Job Description

Main Tasks

  • Produces written content for social media, newsroom articles, email newsletters, press releases, and others
  • Manages clients’ social media pages as needed
  • Participates in client pitches under the supervision of the creative director
  • Creates brand or social media playbooks
  • Coordinates with the internal account team to ensure that creative output meets the requirements of the client brief
  • Supervises the work, load, and timelines of the writing team

Specific Tasks: Strategy and Planning

  • Assists creative director in developing digital strategies
  • Attends client meetings with the project manager as necessary
  • Ideates creative and relevant content to achieve client’s communication goals
  • Stays up-to-date on trends in content marketing, advertising, and public relations
  • Assists the creative director in preparing and presenting pitch decks for prospective clients
  • Develops social media playbooks
  • Attends workshops to gain additional knowledge/skills as a content marketer
  • Facilitates workshops to transfer knowledge/skills

Specific Tasks: Production

  • Collaborates with designers to produce content calendars for social media and newsletters
  • Writes social posts, articles, press releases, email newsletters, and other forms of content on a wide range of topics
  • Ensures that all produced content is aligned with the creative brief and client strategy
  • Ensures that content produced is factual and free of typographical and grammatical errors
  • Supervises and edits output of the copywriter
  • Consults and clears with the creative director regarding all written output
  • Applies client revisions within reasonable turnaround times
  • Manages client’s social media pages, including scheduling of posts, and responding to inquiries and comments
  • Organizes files for documentation and turnover to the team and/or client
  • Does event coverage for clients when necessary

Minimum Qualifications

  • 3-5 years’ significant experience in advertising or digital communication
  • Creative and conceptual skills as evidenced in the portfolio
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Storytelling and critical thinking
  • Creative curiosity; always looking for different ways to convey an idea
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Good organizational skills and work ethic
  • Social media savvy
  • Shows initiative
  • Team player
