Redefining Corporate Citizenship: Inside Our Work at the 2025 LCF CSR Conference & Expo

Written by Rizza Benjamin, Junior Content Specialist for Advocacy Communications

In celebration of National Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) week, the League of Corporate Foundations (LCF) convened its 2025 CSR Conference & Expo under the banner “Diversity, Equity, and Inclusivity for Shared Prosperity.” From July 1 to 3 at Dusit Thani Manila and the Glorietta Activity Center, leaders from business, nonprofit, and development circles gathered to ask how diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) can become central pillars of a company’s DNA.

As the event’s official PR and communications partner, Evident developed the PR and communications strategy and press kit, and secured extensive media coverage that elevated LCF’s urgent agenda—and ensured it echoed far beyond the venue.

Business and foundation leaders, and CSR advocates gathered at the Dusit Thani Manila for the 2025 CSR Conference.

Building the Story of Shared Prosperity

Working closely with their leadership, we developed a message house that served as the backbone of the entire communications campaign. At its center was the core message “Driving Inclusive Business Growth through Diversity”, which captured LCF’s call to reframe CSR as a systemic responsibility—one that stretches beyond philanthropy toward sustained, institutional change.

To support this, we crafted three important narratives:

  1. Creating Collaborative Impact – Highlighting LCF’s role in uniting corporate foundations toward collective CSR action.
  2. Redefining Business for Shared Prosperity – Emphasizing the integration of DEI and sustainability into the fabric of business.
  3. Building an Equitable Future – Positioning the conference as a platform for action across LCF’s seven thematic pillars: Arts & Culture, Disaster Resilience, Education, Enterprise Development, Environment, Financial Inclusion, and Health.

These messages were threaded consistently through every part of the campaign—from the launch press conference last April to the final post-conference and expo releases—ensuring a cohesive, multi-platform narrative.

A Tactical, Purpose-Driven PR Campaign

To meet the scale of LCF’s vision, our team executed a PR strategy built around three core phases:

  1. Press Conference & Media Briefings (April–May 2025): Crafted to build momentum for National CSR Week, with LCF leaders engaging directly with the media.
  2. Strategic Press Releases & Media Outreach (June): Amplifying the expo, conference themes, and CSR Guild Awards and Medal of Recognition across regional and national outlets.
  3. Onsite Media Engagement (July 1–3): Over 30  journalists from print, online, and broadcast, including bloggers, were present at the Dusit Thani Manila and Glorietta Activity Center to witness the thematic sessions and booths showcasing various CSR programs of LCF members. Media attendees were given press kits and opportunities to interview key speakers—making sure the event’s stories resonated in both mainstream and niche media.
This strategic approach drove broad media coverage, with over 40 published stories—strengthening LCF’s voice and influence in the corporate responsibility landscape.

Lacey Ann Ramos (on stage), Training Specialist for Advocacy Communications, facilitated the visioning and branding workshop for LCF’s upcoming 30th anniversary during the 2025 CSR Conference at Dusit Thani Manila.

Visioning Toward the Future

Alongside the main conference agenda, we also facilitated a branding and visioning workshop on the final day of the CSR Conference and Expo to help LCF solidify its identity as it approaches its 30th anniversary. To inform the workshop, we revisited earlier insights from a visioning session with the Board of Trustees and guided members through a series of interactive activities via Mentimeter and big group discussions.

We also asked members to reflect on LCF’s evolution—from its early years to the present—and imagine its future role in shaping corporate citizenship in the country. Our questions ranged from reflective to practical: What is LCF at its best? What should it be known for in the next three decades? These conversations will then inform the brand narrative and positioning as LCF gears up for a milestone year in 2026.

Connecting Purpose to Practice

Our role as the event’s PR and communications partner extended beyond planning and strategy and onto the expo floor—where our presence embodied the broader partnership we built with LCF. Grounded in our shared belief that strategic, purpose-driven communications can turn complex ideas into tangible change, we set-up a dedicated booth and met passionate individuals from NGOs, social enterprises, and corporations—all driven by the desire to create positive impact.

This on-ground engagement is part of a larger, integrated effort. From narrative crafting to media outreach, every component of our work was carefully aligned to amplify LCF’s vision of a more systemic and inclusive approach to corporate social responsibility.

And as LCF leads the way in redefining CSR, the practice itself continues to evolve—and so must the way we tell its story: with intentionality, clarity, and a deep connection to the communities it aims to uplift.
