Contract Duration: 6-month contract period (June to November 2020)
Department/Location: Duty station in Cotabato City
Reports to: Lead Field Coordinator
Supervisory Responsibility: None


Evident Strategic Research and Consulting, Inc. is looking for a highly capable team member based in (or willing to relocate to) Cotabato City to assist the field communication team through administrative and research tasks for a 6-month engagement with the Ministry of Basic, Higher, and Technical Education (MBHTE) of the BARMM.

The Project Assistant reports to the Lead Field Coordinator, and is expected to provide effective and efficient support through a mix of complex and routine administrative tasks, which cover, but are not limited to: desk and field research and analysis, logistical tasks, documentation, and archiving.

The engagement is a mix of remote work and field work/meetings, subject to strict compliance to minimum health standards prescribed by the Department of Health under GCQ, MGCQ, MECQ, and ECQ (depending on the changing health landscape over the engagement due to COVID-19.

Duties and Responsibilities

Key Function 1: Logistical and Administrative Tasks

  1. Research and contact suppliers (venue, transportation, equipment, etc.) to request for cost proposals and ensure that logistical needs are secured for expected activities with the MBHTE and their respective program teams
  2. Ensure that supplier needs/costs are within the allocated budget
  3. Collect and make arrangements for materials as needed for both internal and external meetings, trainings or workshops
  4. Coordinate with the Lead Field Coordinator and Communication Specialist for any specific administrative or logistical needs


Key Function 2: Documentation and Archiving

  1. Archive documents and supplier or media contacts as needed
  2. Transcribe and translate workshop notes and audio recordings into a more digestible format


Key Function 3: Research

  1. Assist the team in the preparation of documents through desk research and ensuring quality of these documents
  2. Assist in developing research strategies and in the conduct of field work, or pre- and post-testing of materials, including analysis of statistical information and data for use in reports and presentations
  3. Assist in preparing daily, weekly and monthly reports, minutes of the meeting, or contact reports


  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, development, sociology or other relevant fields
  • At least one year experience implementing similar work or projects, particularly in the BARMM
  • Based in Cotabato City, or willing to be relocated there
  • Must own a computer/laptop to be used for work (Evident will not be supplying machines)

Functional Competencies

  • Good knowledge of the historical and cultural nuances of communication initiatives in the BARMM 
  • Deep understanding of the educational objectives and considerations or issues in the BARMM
  • Knowledge of building partnerships with suppliers as integrated in communication planning
  • Working knowledge of project/program cycle management
