Shanghai Moonton Games Ltd (“Moonton”) mounted the M4 World Championship early this month in Jakarta, Indonesia, with over 16 teams and multiple gaming personalities from 12 regions converging on the grandest stage in Mobile Gaming Esports.

M4 is the fourth “M-series” or world championship organized by Moonton, the publisher of the leading mobile MOBA title Mobile Legends: Bang Bang.

As the content development agency of Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League – Philippines (MPL-PH) since 2021, Evident was tasked to amplify the fan experience by producing video content across different social media platforms specifically for the Filipino audience.

From the knockout stages up to the grand finals last January 16, Evident content specialists Aeron Gabriel Pantig and Jeronne Karlo De Villa captured winning moments and exclusive interviews to name a few to hype Filipino fans back home.

16 teams from all over the globe competed in the said tournament:

  1. Echo (Philippines)
  2. Blacklist International (Philippines)
  3. RRQ Hoshi (Indonesia)
  4. ONIC Esports (Indonesia)
  5. The Valley (North America)
  6. Falcon Esports (Myanmar)
  7. RRQ Akira (Brazil)
  8. Incendio Supremacy (Turkey)
  9. RSG Singapore (Singapore)

  13. Burn X Flash (Cambodia)
  14. Occupy Thrones (Middle East)

The all-Filipino Grand Finals between Echo and Blacklist International highlighted the tournament, wherein Echo was hailed as the best MLBB team in the world in just four games. Aside from Echo winning the M4 trophy, Moonton was also a winner with M4 breaking records in viewership and making history as one of the most popular tournaments in the history of esports as of January 17, 2023.

Before the PH representatives clashed in the finale, it was also revealed that the Philippines would be the host country for the M5 World Championship.
