When the Philippines’ climate frontline meets Canada’s technical acumen, you get a partnership built for readiness. To support climate resilience and disaster preparedness in the Philippines, the Embassy of Canada hosted the “Philippines-Canada Partnership Forum: Building Climate and Disaster Resilience” on July 10, 2025, at The Westin Manila. The event, aligned with Canada’s Indo-Pacific Strategy and the Philippine Development Plan 2023–2028, brought together leaders and representatives from embassies, government, NGOs, INGOs, academe, and the private sector, highlighting both countries’ shared commitment to sustainable development.
As the event’s official communications and PR partner, Evident Integrated Marketing & PR helped turn that agenda into momentum by leading targeted media outreach efforts, strategic seeding of press releases to key journalists and publications, conducting real-time media monitoring to track coverage and sentiment, designing branded creative materials, and overseeing event coordination.

Two Countries, One Climate Ambition
Since establishing diplomatic ties in 1949, the Philippines and Canada have shared priorities: environmental sustainability, economic resilience, and inclusive development.
The forum served as a platform for the Canadian Embassy to announce over CAD 30 million in new investments aimed at promoting integrated climate action. This commitment builds on Canada’s ongoing support for the Philippines through sustained development assistance, signaling long-term commitment to the country’s climate resilience.
Evident’s creatives translated this joint ambition into a clear visual story: trees and leaves for sustainability, interlinked hands for collaboration, and a globe to center what’s at stake. The identity lived across the LED backdrop, invitations, IDs, notebooks, and folders, giving the forum a signature look and a unifying language.

From Talk to Traction: Three Conversations that Mattered
Great forums don’t just stack panels – they build momentum. Evident helped organize speaker curation, logistics coordination, speaker engagement from diverse sectors, scriptwriting management, moderator briefing, and invitation sendouts to ensure each session reflected the forum’s overarching vision. Each panel explored a key dimension of climate and disaster resilience:
- Science and Data for Climate Adaptation Solutions – The first panel showcased the impact of climate change and natural disasters on ecosystems, economies, and communities, focusing on the resulting loss and damage. The panelists highlighted the significance of science and data in these types of scenarios.
- Building Resilience Through Local Leadership – The second panel covered the impact of local governments on the opportunities and barriers of building resilience in communities. The panelists highlighted the importance of building a resiliency agenda for communities.
- Financing What Works – The third panel emphasized access to sustainable financing opportunities that could promote locally-led resiliency and adaptation approaches. They discussed the role of private sector investments that could further support sustainable climate action.
To contextualize these discussions, Evident developed program briefers outlining the forum’s core themes and the shared development goals of Canada and the Philippines, so participants could engage with clarity and leave with next steps.

Fostering Collaborative Climate Action
From strategic planning to creative execution, Evident worked closely with the Embassy of Canada to ensure consistent messaging, cohesive visuals, and carefully curated panel sessions that highlighted the forum’s core themes of environmental sustainability, resilience, and urgent climate action. This integrated approach aligned all content and activities with the event’s objectives, fostering meaningful collaboration among a broad range of stakeholders, including government, NGOs, academia, and the private sector.
The work doesn’t end with a forum. Canada and the Philippines share more than history; they share a horizon. As climate challenges intensify, so do the collective resolve to build systems, communities, and futures that can weather what’s next.
