As Business Development Specialist, you are expected to:

Core competencies
- Experienced in business development, lead generation, and social and behavior change communication (SBCC) or communication for the development sector – working with non-profit or non-government organizations and/or government agencies
- Excellent knowledge of procurement processes within the development and government sector
- Excellent knowledge of SBCC elements, such as, but not limited to, digital marketing, content production, social research, and community relations
- Proven excellent ability to lead pitches, develop technical and financial proposals, and account and client management
Specific Responsibilities
Business Development
- Achieve monthly and annual revenue and/or sales targets by identifying and tracking relevant upcoming project opportunities from relevant digital platforms not limited to the following platforms: Devex, Development Sector Jobs, PhilGEPS, Hubspot, and UNGM, advance intelligence gathering, research, partner relationships, and other available sources
- Lead the creation of the Advocacy Communications business contacts database
- Lead the facilitation of cold emails, credentials presentations, client scoping meetings, pitch briefing meetings, and so on
- Manage pre-solicitation proposals and planning, which includes bid strategy, teaming, technical and financial design, due diligence document preparations, and other sections as needed, in collaboration with the Advocacy Communications Project Managers
- Ensure that relevant internal approval processes at different levels are followed on making the decision whether or not to pursue a business opportunity
- Support the proactive development of proactive concepts, converting ideas into sellable proposals and actively participate in identifying sources of support (whether for new or existing clients, aka upsell)
Marketing, Outreach, Partnerships, and Special Projects Management
- Represent Evident’s business development interests at relevant meetings, events, and within resource mobilization or client-specific peer networks, as it relates to business acquisition.
- Collaborate with Evident’s Brand Officer and Marketing ad-hoc teams, and Corporate and Public Affairs to help market Evident’s advocacy communications projects and services
- Through collaboration with Evident’s Brand Officer, Marketing ad-hoc teams, and Advocacy Communications Project Managers, provide support in the regular communication with clients and suppliers
Strategy and Planning
- Develop and implement an Advocacy Communications business development strategy
- In collaboration with the Finance unit, produce regular reports on business development performance analysis
- Regularly advise on project and marketing and promotion opportunities
- Conduct partner and competitor analysis
- Collaborate with other business units to communicate and strategize on new business opportunities
- Research and produce internal briefs on topics and issues related to new business development (ex. Donor/funder and organization profiles, briefings for meetings and conferences and potential speaking engagements)
- Help develop better tools, systems, techniques, and strategies for identifying, tracking, and pursuing new business opportunities, developing proposals and budgets, and managing institutional knowledge
- Commit to continuous learning and staying abreast of trends in communication, social media, NGO communications, stakeholder engagement, public affairs, public policy, and other related fields
- Where assigned, lead the organization of Evident-led events related to advocacy communications
